Challenges
<p>After spinning off from a larger corporation, medmix reevaluated the need for a costly and complex Sitecore CMS. medmix undertook a comprehensive review of its Sitecore CMS, driven by the considerable licensing fees and the ongoing dependence on external agencies for content management. These challenges resulted in increased operational costs and hindered the speed of content updates. The organization prioritized adopting a more agile platform that would allow internal teams to efficiently manage content independently.</p>
Goals
<p>Client needed a user-friendly platform to help their team manage content, speed up page creation, and improve user experience.</p><p>The goal was to implement new features like advanced search and simplify content updates across markets, while saving on operational costs during the 1:1 migration from Sitecore to XbyK.</p>
Solution
<p>The client considered both Kentico and another open-source CMS, but Kentico's reasonable costs and strong security features led them to choose Xperience by Kentico (XbyK) solution.</p><p>Actum completed the migration from Sitecore to XbyK in just under three months using the Actum Kentico Accelerator solution, which included pre-developed content modules to speed up the migration process. </p>
Kentico solution provided all necessary features at less than half the cost of Sitecore licenses. Moreover, its intuitive interface allowed the client’s internal team to manage content, reducing reliance on external support.
The migration introduced enhanced search, faster content creation, and the potential to consolidate other brand pages into single, localized platform.
In addition, the new content model streamlined updates, allowing editors to make changes with just a few clicks.
