Senior Business Intelligence Consultant

About the job 

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior BI Consultant with in-depth expertise in Power BI. You will become our go-to internal expert on this platform, helping clients design, build, and evolve cutting-edge Power BI solutions. In this role, you will work on diverse data and analytics projects, enabling clients to leverage their data for smarter, more efficient decision-making fully. This position offers opportunities to grow in business-focused areas (data strategy, governance, monetization, AI) as well as technical domains (reporting, data architecture, data management). You will also have the chance to develop subject-matter expertise, deliver training, and provide mentoring to colleagues or client teams. We are seeking someone with strong technical and communication skills, deep Power BI knowledge, and the ability to solve complex challenges in business intelligence and data analytics.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of Power BI solutions — from data models to final dashboards.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, and vice versa.
• Design optimal Power BI architecture (Direct Query, Import, Composite models, RLS) and establish governance processes, including semantic models and data flows.
• Perform data modeling and optimize model performance.
• Create advanced calculations using DAX and Power Query (M).
• Develop reports and dashboards with a strong emphasis on UI/UX and user experience.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement technical solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers and internal teams to design and deliver end-to-end data solutions.
• Lead client training sessions and workshops.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Actively engage with business and IT stakeholders, presenting solutions and recommendations.

What we expect:

• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI development in a commercial environment.
• University degree in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Excellent knowledge of DAX, data modeling, and Power Query (M).
• Proven experience with Power BI governance, semantic models, data flows, deployment pipelines, and MS Fabric components and SQL.
• Solid sense of design and experience in UI/UX for data visualization.
• Strong interest in BI trends and Microsoft ecosystem updates.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Customer-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in Czech/Slovak and English; German is a plus.

What is nice to have:

• Experience with data platforms (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Keboola, etc.).
• Familiarity with other BI tools (Tableau, Qlik
• Knowledge of Vega/Vega-Lite (for use with Deneb visual).
• Previous consulting experience.
